Buncombe County Board of Elections Asks For Public Input On 2026 Early Voting Plan 

The Buncombe County Board of Elections is seeking public input for its 2026 Early voting plan. Early voting sites works to serve every part of the county to provide access to early voting. There are significantly fewer early voting sites compared to Election Day polling locations, so public input is important as the Board develops its plan.

Important Upcoming Dates 

Sept. 16: National Voter Registration Day  

Oct. 3: Absentee Voting by mail begins for 2025 Weaverville, Woodfin, and Woodfin Water & Sewer District Municipal Election*   

Oct. 10: Voter registration deadline for Municipal Election  

Oct. 16-Nov. 1: Early Voting Municipal Election  

Oct. 21: Last day to request Absentee Ballot for Municipal Election  

Nov. 4: Municipal Election Day  

Nov. 14: County Canvass Day 

Dec.1-19: Candidate filing for 2026 Primary Election (Please note that a candidate must be registered with a NC recognized political party for at least 90 days at the time of filing their Notice of Candidacy-for partisan contests)  

* Only residents within the town limits of Weaverville, Woodfin, and/or Woodfin Water & Sewer District are eligible to vote.
