The City of Hendersonville Released Proposed Budget for 2025-2026
The City of Hendersonville released its proposed budget for fiscal year 2025- 2026, and the City Council will hold a public hearing on June 5th ahead of the budget’s final passage.

The proposed budget plans to spend $68,623,860, which includes services like water and sewer.
The proposed budget estimates that the city will collect $63,083,615 in tax revenue and about $5 million in special appropriations.
Tax Revenue
The proposed budget plans to keep property taxes the same $0.52 per $100 valuation, with no change compared to previous years, this generates an estimated $16.7 million in revenue. The Sales tax is expected to generate $8 million in revenue.

The proposed budget lays out a 4.00% cost-of-living increase for all employees, while increasing the 401 (k) match from 2.00% to 3.00%, and reinstates a merit-based pay program.
Health insurance premiums are expected to increase by 33.9%.
The budget implements a series of programs supported by FEMA efforts to improve the city’s public safety infrastructure and flood mitigation strategies. This is in addition to the efforts to recover from Helene.
The proposed budget provides funding for Main Street revitalization efforts and projects.
