Anti-Human Trafficking North Carolina Nonprofit Celebrates Five Years

On September 25th, the Lantern Project, a Concord-based nonprofit, celebrated its five year anniversary. This organization fights human trafficking through prevention, education, and restoration of survivors. In 2020, the organization began equipping the communities with tools to recognize and prevent exploitation and provide survivors with comprehensive care and pathways to independence. In 2023, the Lantern Project expanded its services to include safe housing, offering survivors places to heal.

“The Lantern Gala represents both a celebration of the progress made and a call to action for

the work ahead,” said Simon Arkley, Founder and Executive Director of The Lantern Project. “As we look back on five years of service, we remain deeply committed to expanding our reach and strengthening our programs to meet the needs of survivors.”

To celebrate this milestone, The Lantern Project will host its 5th Annual Lantern Gala on  December 4, 2025 at The Kettle Room, Cabarrus Brewing Co. This premier fundraising event  will gather community leaders, advocates, and supporters for an evening of reflection and  vision. Individual tickets and sponsorship packages for the 5th Annual Lantern Gala are available now at www.thelantern.net/gala25. Sponsorship opportunities include event recognition and  exclusive benefits, with proceeds directly supporting The Lantern Project’s mission to restore  hope and freedom for survivors of human trafficking.
