Our Mission
The Blue Ridge Times exists to provide timely, digestible information to everyday North Carolinians, with a particular focus on audiences to the right of center.
Why The Blue Ridge Times?
Since the settlers first arrived, the Blue Ridge region has been isolated from the centers of political power, leading to the area being ignored by policymakers. The Blue Ridge Times aims to amplify the stories important to right-of-center voters, ensuring that everyone is well-informed about the issues that matter to them.

Commitments
-
TIMELY & DIGESTIBLE CONTENT
We deeply value our readers’ time, understanding that they have full lives and lack time to consume all the information about political issues that impact them. The Blue Ridge Times will provide timely reports in digestible formats that keep readers informed with minimal time commitments. Unlike other outlets, which rely on hyperbole to generate attention, The Blue Ridge Times focuses on accurate language to provide proper context for issues, without needlessly increasing our readers’ anxiety.
-
DISCLOSED PERSPECTIVES
One reason for the decline in trust in our society and the media is that “journalists” often claim to be objective while pushing an agenda. The supposed “truth tellers” simply advocated a misleading agenda that does not correspond to reality. At The Blue Ridge Times, we disclose our perspectives on the critical issues that impact our society, instead of feigning indifference. Throughout our content, we always clearly differentiate facts and opinions.
-
COMMUNITY BUILDING
Reporting is a means to an end. The end is a more interconnected and informed community. Over time, this outlet will encourage community interconnectivity, helping North Carolinians understand where they live and how they can maximize their impact for good.
TIM WIGGINGTON
Tim Wigginton started the Blue Ridge Times and currently serves as the editor in chief.
Tim worked in and around North Carolina politics starting in 2015, doing research and communications work, impacting dozens of races from the Presidential level down to local politics. During his time, he travelled across North Carolina from the Crystal Coast to the Blue Ridge mountains.
Tim currently lives in Raleigh with his wife Chasity and three children. When not writing or engaging in politics, he enjoys being in nature, whether on the hiking trail or kayaking a new body of water.
His views on political issues are primarily shaped by his decade in North Carolina politics and his experience growing up as a military kid. Tim grew up a Reagan Republican and views politics through a conservative lens.
