Roy Cooper failed at his most basic duty as governor, protecting the people of North Carolina.”
The ban on open fires remains in effect for Alamance, Anson, Cabarrus, Chatham, Davidson, Davie, Forsyth, Gaston, Guilford, Iredell, Mecklenburg, Montgomery, Moore, Randolph, Rockingham, Rowan, Stanly, Stokes and Union counties until further notice.
Rep. Mike Schietzelt said, “I heard from one of our Wake County Commissioners this morning that they intend to delay this vote. That's the right move. This merger will significantly impact the cost and quality of care across Wake County. It merits a transparent, deliberative process.”
“When a fatality occurs due to workplace safety failures, our response must reflect the gravity of that loss — fully and without dilution,” Commissioner Luke Farley said.
