Senate Leadership Fund Releases New Ad Featuring Victims Of Cooper’s Soft-On-Crime Agenda
This week, the Senate Leadership Fund announced a new ad as part of its $17 million summer advertising campaign highlighting the impact of Roy Cooper’s soft-on-crime agenda.
In the new ad, North Carolina father Ronald Hayes shares the tragic story of his son Shemar's murder. Hayes explains how Roy Cooper's decision to release thousands of inmates from prison early gave violent criminals a second chance that his son will never have. Pointing to Cooper's 40 years in politics, Hayes says nothing has changed for the better.
"Gov. Roy Cooper has been in office for 40 years, but he failed us when he gave violent criminals a second chance that my son will never have. I will never see my son grow older and raise a family of his own. There will always be an empty chair at our table and a hole in our family that can never be filled. We have been left to live every day with the devastating, irreversible consequences of policies that puts repeat criminals ahead of the innocent. Something has to change." — Ronald Hayes
