Asheville Fire Department Assistant Fire Chief Of Operations Plans To Retire February 1st
The City of Asheville announced that Assistant Fire Chief Patrick Crudup plans to retire effective February 1st. Assistant Fire Chief Michael Coggins will assume Interim Bureau Chief role, until the position is filled.
“Serving alongside each of you has been a privilege and a defining part of my career,” said Assistant Chief Crudup. “I am sincerely grateful for your professionalism, dedication, and unwavering commitment to our crews and to the people we serve across the City of Asheville.”
Crudup is a native of Bunn, and graduated from Mars Hill College in 1995. He began his career with the City of Asheville in 1997, with the City’s Parks and Recreation Department. Crudup began his service with the Fire Department in 2002, eventually working his way up to Assistant Chief of Operations. Throughout his time in AFD his leadership in the REST team and Honor Guard has been invaluable.
