Marsha Blackburn Secures Republican Nomination For Tennessee Governor

Last week, Marsha Blackburn officially secured the Republican nomination for Governor of Tennessee. Blackburn secured 43.55% of the vote, John Rose secured 32.95^, and Monty Fritts secured 23.5%.  

About the primary victory, Blackburn said, “From the bottom of my heart, thank you, Tennessee! One year ago, we set out on this journey with one goal: to make Tennessee America’s conservative leader and show the nation what a strong, bold, conservative leadership looks like. Tonight, I am humbled and honored that you’ve chosen me as your Republican nominee for Governor. Together, we’ve taken a major step toward that goal. I won’t let you down. On to November.”  

After the primary concluded, President Trump said, “Congratulations to our Great Senator from Tennessee, Marsha Blackburn, who had a tremendous WIN for Governor last night, against a very strong and talented opponent, John Rose. Marsha now must go on to the next step, where she is running against a Radical Left Dumocrat who does not represent the Values of Tennessee, a State which I won all three times, in Historic Numbers. Marsha will decisively win, and Tennessee, under her leadership, will go on to set records in every category. I know Marsha well, and she has my Complete and Total Endorsement to be the next Governor of the Great State of Tennessee. Congratulations Marsha! President DONALD J. TRUMP.” 

The Republican Governors Association (RGA) released the following statement in response to the Tennessee gubernatorial primary:  

“Congratulations to Marsha Blackburn on her primary victory. Blackburn has spent her career in public service fighting for Tennessee, leading the charge to protect kids from Big Tech, strengthening border security, and standing up for working families,” said RGA Chair Governor Greg Gianforte. “Her record of delivering results and putting Tennesseans first makes her the right leader to serve as the next great governor of the Volunteer State.”
