Buncombe County Released All 2026 Property Values, Here’s How To Appeal
This month, Buncombe County released the property values as of January 2026. While the vendor mailing the value notices experienced a production delay, any property owner can access property values online – learn more at www.buncombenc.gov/MyValueBC. The deadline to file an appeal is May 5.
Due to overwhelming attendance at appeal clinics, the hours of the appeal clinics have been extended, but property owners do not need to attend an appeal clinic to begin the appeal process. Any property owner can schedule a call with a Buncombe County property appraiser by calling (828) 250-4940 or from the link on their notice of value. The appeal process also can be started online – learn more at www.buncombenc.gov/MyValueBC. There is no cost to appeal. Appeals do not guarantee changes to property valuations.
The new property values do not reflect a new tax rate; tax rates are set by the Board of Commissioners during the budget process and in accordance with state law must be set by June 30. Updated tax bills are sent in August of each year.
