Candidate filing for the 2026 midterm election officially closed this Friday at noon. The primary election will feature candidates for the U.S. Senate, U.S. House, Asheville City Council, Asheville City School Board of Education, Buncombe County Board of Education, Buncombe County Commissioners, and the City of Asheville Mayor.
