City of Asheville Announces Bill Hart As Interim Water Resource Director
Last week, the City of Asheville announced that Bill Hart, the Water Production Division Manager, will serve as the Interim Water Resources Director, following the departure of David Melton. Hart played a vital role in the City’s response to Helene and his service as the interim director will help the city recover. He begins his new role starting on August 2nd.
Stated City Manager Debra Campbell, “I am confident that Bill’s leadership skills, knowledge of our water system, and experience with the recovery efforts underway will prove to be invaluable in this interim period.”
Hart has worked for the Water Resources Department for 16 years, including Water Plant Operator, North Fork Water Treatment Plan Supervisor, and Water Production Division Manager. He holds a bachelor's degree from Western Carolina University with a background in natural resource management.
