City of Asheville Receives $11 Million From FEMA For Recovery Efforts

This week, the City of Asheville announced that the Federal Emergency Management Agency plans to approve an additional $11 million to support Helene recovery efforts. These funds will support critical water system and long-term resiliency projects.

“On behalf of the City of Asheville, I want to thank the Department of Homeland Security for approving critical funds to support our community’s recovery from Tropical Storm Helene. These resources will not only help us rebuild but will also strengthen resilience in our water system and our watershed for the future. We are deeply grateful to our partners at FEMA, as well as Senators Ted Budd and Thom Tillis, and Congressman Chuck Edwards, for their continued advocacy and support of Asheville,” said Mayor Esther Manheimer.

The city is continuing to work with federal partners to identify further recovery needs and funding options.
