Continuing Resolution Contained $200 Million To Crack Down On Dangerous Chinese Vapes

One key provision in the continuing resolution that recently passed Congress included $200 million to crack down on illegal, dangerous Chinese vaping products. These products are often brightly colored, candy-flavored, and sometimes contain video games, all in an effort to market these products to minors. These vape products often contain undisclosed and banned substances, in addition to dangerously high levels of nicotine.

Rep. Brad Knott (R-NC) said about the bill: “One critically important part of the legislation that opened the government yesterday is boosting enforcement directives, and resources, aimed at harmful and illegal vaping products that flood the United States from other countries, primarily China. These illegal and counterfeit products disproportionately harm America’s youth and undermine American business. They must be stopped.”

The $200 million will enable law enforcement to crack down on these illicit vapes, building on the Trump administration’s ongoing enforcement efforts. Protecting America Initiative polling last month conducted by President Trump’s pollster Tony Fabrizio found that 80% of general election voters in swing congressional districts support the Trump administration’s crackdown on illegal Chinese vapes and the smoke shops that sell them, proving that voters across the political spectrum agree these enforcement efforts should continue.

Here are some recent successes the Trump administration has had in cracking down on both a local and state level:

  • This October in Hoke County, North Carolina, law enforcement discovered a large stash of marijuana, illegal vapes, and other drug-related items.

  • The DEA announced that raids across the United States intercepted 2.3 million illicit vapes and over 100 weapons on September 15th, 2025.

  • Operation Smoke and Mirrors in Beaufort County, North Carolina, targeted 13 businesses in rural North Carolina that were selling illegal vapes.

  • In September, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and the U.S. Customers and Border Patrol announced a record seizer of 4.7 million units of illegal vapes with an estimated value of $86.5 million– the largest-ever seizure of this kind.

Tim’s Take: The polling shows that this is an issue that voters care about the Trump administration tackling this problem head on. With the additional funding, law enforcement will be even more effective in protecting our communities. But this is a good news story for the Trump administration, so legacy media outlets on both a state and national level are ignoring this story.
