With the election less than a week away, the Buckhout campaign is calling out false advertisements from third party groups. Notably, silent is Democrat Congressman Don Davis, who is one of the most vulnerable Democrats this cycle.
Laurie Buckhout released the following statement:
“Don Davis needs to condemn these deceptive election tactics immediately. This is a tried and true tactic to muddy the waters and attempt to deceive Republican voters with one goal in mind: hand the House Majority to Democrats and the Speaker’s gavel to Hakeem Jeffries. Don Davis owes Eastern North Carolina voters an answer: Does he condemn these tactics, or is he willing to benefit from them? Eastern North Carolina voters will not be fooled. They deserve transparency, not political games designed to confuse them about who's behind these attacks.”
Punchbowl News recently reported a shady dark money group is spending over $1.2 million in congressional races nationally. In North Carolina’s First District, the group is sending out mailers to boost the Libertarian candidate, Tom Bailey. According to the North Carolina State Board of Elections, Bailey lives in Greensboro, well outside North Carolina’s First Congressional District.
Additionally, Buckhout has faced false claims about her position on abortion. Buckhout is a pro-life champion and endorsed by Susan B. Anthony Action.
