Debris Removal Concludes At Enka Commerce Park

Last week, the City of Asheville announced that debris removal operations concluded at Enka Commerce Park and the site had been restored to its original condition. The commerce park is key site designed to attract large businesses to Ashville.

The empty land served a temporary debris collection point facilitating faster recovery for Helene. Eventually, the 1,044,240 cubic yards of storm debris was removed from the site, and no further debris actively will take place at Enka Commerce Park.

“We are grateful for the patience of nearby residents and businesses during this process,” said Jes Foster, Sanitation Division Manager and City Debris Lead. “This temporary debris site was an essential step in ensuring the City’s recovery efforts moved forward efficiently and safely.”
