Did WNC Democrats Forget to Celebrate Pride Month?
Normally, during the month of June, Democrats across Western North Carolina proudly celebrate Pride month. But we are now halfway through June, and Democrats from Western North Carolina, Rep. Lindsey Prather, Rep. Brian Turner, Rep. Eric Ager and Sen. Julie Mayfield, have remained completely silent. This is a change compared to previous years.
This June:
Are WNC Democrats Following the Lead of Corporate America?
After experiencing backlash from conservatives, major corporations abandoned their previous shows of solidary with the LGTB community during Pride Month. The question is our Western North Carolina Democrats avoiding public shows of solidarity in an attempt to appeal to the young male voters abandoning the Democrat Party?
Former Vice-Presidential Candidate, Gov. Tim Walz, explained that Democrats are facing a crisis when it comes to young male voters and Democrats need to figure out a plan to win them back. If Mountain Democrats want to expand beyond Asheville, they need to figure out how to appeal to the average young man. Maybe that is why they are not showing solidarity this Pride Month.
Not Going to Work: Voters pay attention to actions
If Western Democrats want to distance themselves from the radical ideology of their party, they need to change their actions. Not simply decline to virtue signal during Pride Month.
Prather, Ager, and Mayfield voted against the Fairness in Women’s Sports Act because apparently they approve of biological men competing against women. When the Parents’ Medical Bill of Rights was debated in the North Carolina House, Mountain Democrats voted against it. The last mountain Democrat to gain traction across the Blue Ridge was Heath Schuler, who regularly bucked his party’s leadership. These Democrats fall in line with the establishment every time.
