HCA Healthcare Announces $32 Million Investment Into Facilities Across Western North Carolina
This week, HCA Healthcare announced plans to invest more than $32 million in Mission Health facilities across Western North Carolina to strengthen patient safety, quality, and care capabilities throughout the region. The investment includes nearly $15 million for imaging and diagnostic technology and more than $13 million for surgical, cardiovascular and procedural care, along with investments in emergency transportation, hospital infrastructure and other patient care resources.
“Investing in our hospitals means investing in the health of Western North Carolina,” said Greg Lowe, President of Mission Health. “These investments give our physicians, nurses and care teams advanced equipment and technology to support safe, high-quality care - from diagnostic imaging and surgery to emergency response. Ultimately, this is about making sure our teams have the resources they need to provide the best possible care for our patients.”
Where are the investments going:
Mission’s Asheville Surgery Center will receive nearly $15 million for radiology and imaging equipment and $12 million for surgical and cardiovascular equipment to support operating rooms.
HCA is investing $820,000 in two highly specialized Type I ambulances designed to safely transport some of the region’s sickest and most complex patients, along with funding for endoscopy equipment.
At CarePartners, an HCA Healthcare investment of more than $200,000 will support its outpatient facility and the rehabilitation and post-acute service it provides to patients across Western North Carolina.
At Angel Medical Center in Franklin, HCA Healthcare plans to invest $365,00 in two new steam sterilizers to support safe and effective sterilization of surgical instruments.
At Blue Ridge Region Hospital in Spruce Pine, HCA announced several investments. $650,000 to enhance local delivery, including $500,00 for a new nuclear medicine camera and $150,000 for pharmacy improvements.
At Mission Hospital McDowell in Marion, HCA Healthcare plans to invest $500,00 for operating room improvements.
At Highlands-Cashiers Hospital in Highlands, HCA Healthcare is investing more than $635,00 in vehicles, acute care beds, a surgical table, and an operating room with endoscopy equipment.
