House Republican Leadership Endorses Laurie Buckhout For Congress
This week, all the Members of House Republican Leadership – Speaker Mike Johnson, Majority Leader Steve Scalise, Majority Whip Tom Emmer, and Republican Conference Chair Lisa McClain – announced their joint endorsement of Col. Laurie Buckhout’s campaign for North Carolina’s First Congressional District.
In their statement they said, “Laurie Buckhout is a veteran and America First patriot who will help us continue to deliver safe streets, secure borders, lower costs, and peace through strength. As a retired Army Colonel and decorated combat commander, former Trump administration official, and business leader, Laurie will also bring her experience to defend our troops, veterans, farmers, and the principles that have made America the greatest nation on Earth. We are proud to ENDORSE Laurie Buckhout for North Carolina’s 1st District, and look forward to working with her to defend and grow our House Republican majority and CONTINUE our American comeback!”
In response to endorsement, Col. Laurie Buckhout said, “I’m honored to have the endorsement of House leadership — strong conservative leaders fighting to secure the border, rein in reckless spending, and get our country back on track. In Congress, I’ll work with them to deliver real results for Eastern North Carolina’s families, farmers, and small businesses. Don Davis has voted for higher taxes, more government spending, and policies that make our communities less safe. I spent my career as a U.S. Army Colonel leading in combat and getting the job done, and with this team’s support and growing grassroots momentum, we’re building the strength to defeat Davis and bring mission-first conservative leadership to Washington.”
Her opponent, Democrat Congressman Don Davis is not highlighting his support from unpopular, national Democrats. However, Davis proudly endorsed Kamala Harris for President in 2024 and consistently voted for the Biden agenda.
