Drag Queens Rush To Jamie Ager’s Defense As Republicans Highlight His Connection To Drag Show That Encouraged Child Attendance
Earlier this month, Democratic congressional candidate Jamie Ager released an ad calling for more “barn dances.” As it turned out, those events at Ager’s barn raised some concerns. As Breitbart reports Ager’s barn held an event in 2019 featuring contests for kids, and drag performers including “Sister Domina Trix,” “Sister Helen Bedd”, and others. Notably, Ager’s business, Hickory Nut Gap, promoted the Beer City Sister’s event on its company Facebook page.
As Ager released his ad, Republicans responded with an ad that featured AI imagery to illustrate the types of events at Ager’s barn. Additionally, the ad highlighted Ager’s recent attempt to sponsor Blue Ridge Pride, which was later confirmed by the organization.
In response to the ad, drag performers immediately attacked Rep. Jennifer Balkcom.
Nova Jynah responded by attacking Balkcom and encouraged people to for Ager.
Will Pounder invited Balkcom to a “slasher-themed,” “adults-only” show as he dedicated some performances to her.
Divinity Holeburn began trying to host a “Jamie Ager win party.”
Sister Domina Trix (Tara Schlayer) threatened legal action against the North Carolina Republican Party.
“Liberal Jamie Ager is sending his left-wing army to attack his political opponents after being exposed for hosting events exposing young children to inappropriate performances from individuals like Sister Domina Trix and Sister Helen Bedd. The NRCC stands by the ad, and voters answer for why he’s trying to push sexualized performers onto kids,” said NRCC Spokesman Reilly Richardson.
Last night, Ager released a straight-to-camera video attacking his opponent for using AI and claiming the event never happened. As previously mentioned in this article, his company promoted the event before he decided to run for Congress.
Tim’s Take: The reason the ad generated such a response from the Ager side is that it shatters the carefully crafted image Ager has been trying to deceive voters with. Ager comes from a family with deep political connections, and it’s my guess that they have been planning this run for Congress for years. Ager has been trying to carefully craft an image to hide his connections to establishment Democrats and his liberal views that out of step with voters. This provocative art could have been produced with actors and a large production budget; leveraging AI simply makes this process more affordable to communicate a message to voters.
