Kamala Harris’s New Book Reveals That Roy Cooper Was An Early Backer Of Her Presidential Campaign

Former Vice President has hit the TV circuit to sell copies of her new Book “107 Days.” This is her version of shortest Presidential campaign in American history. After announcing her campaign, Harris reveals that when she called former Gov. Roy Cooper, he enthusiastically told her, “Before you say anything, I’m all in.” In contrast to Cooper, other Democrats were much more hesitant to fully support Harris.

"It's no surprise that Kamala Harris immediately called her friend, Roy Cooper — a top contender to be her running mate — after learning Biden was dropping out of the presidential race," said NRSC Regional Press Secretary Nick Puglia. “Cooper and Harris are both radical leftists who support deadly soft-on-crime policies, biological males competing in women's sports, and sanctuary city policies that let criminal illegal immigrants free on North Carolina streets. Like Harris, Cooper's radical agenda will be rejected by North Carolinians in 2026."

The immediate support for Harris is interesting given Cooper’s deep connection with President Biden. After Biden’s disastrous debate response, Cooper held a rally in Raleigh to try to help Biden distance himself from the poor debate performance. At the rally, Cooper said, “Here is one thing I know to be true. With the fate of our country hanging in the balance, with the Donald Trump presidency, Joe Biden saved this nation with his victory in 2020. We must do it again in 2024.”

But when the winds shifted, Cooper quickly shifted his allegiance to Kamala Harris.  Cooper referred to Kamala Harris as his friend, and Cooper was her “top choice to serve” as her vice presidential running mate.  But Cooper removed himself for consideration for unclear reasons.
