Memorial Day Ceremonies Across North Carolina’s Mountains

Across the United States this Memorial Day, communities will gather to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Here is a guide for events across the mountain region of North Carolina:

Asheville/ Buncombe County: A Memorial Day Ceremony will take place at Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery at 10:00 AM, Monday May 26th.

Brevard: Day of Remembrance Ceremony on the lawn of the Transylvania County Courthouse at 11:00 am, on Monday May 26th. This event will include a wreath-laying ceremony, presentation of the colors, local speakers, and a reading of the names of the fallen.

Lake Lure: The town of Lake Lure will hold a Memorial Day Program at Lake Lure Veterans Memorial, featuring Col. Brad A. Morgan at 9am, on Monday, May 26th.

Murphy: The Cherokee County NC Chamber of Commerce will host a Memorial Day Ceremony at Konehete Veterans Park at 11:00 AM, Monday May 26th.
