Mission Health’s ‘Crush The Crisis’ Event Collects Over 300 Pounds Of Medication
Mission Health announced that it collected 323 pounds of medication during its annual “Crush the Crisis” event on national prescription drug take back day this Saturday, October 25. This aligns with the Drug Enforcement Administration National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, to increase awareness about the dangers of drug misuse and the importance of safe disposal. Community members dropped off the unused medications, which were collected by law enforcement and properly disposed of.

- Angel Medical Center in Franklin: 35 pounds 
- Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine: 73 pounds 
- Highland-Cashiers Hospital in Highlands: 10 pounds 
- Mission Hospital in Asheville: 146 pounds 
- Mission Hospital in McDowell in Marion: 44 pounds 
- Transylvania Region Hospital in Brevard: 15 pounds 
Mission Health was one of the140 HCA Healthcare hospital collection sites across the United States that participated in the “Crush The Crisis” drug take back day. This is the seventh year HCA has hosted this event, helping dispose of more than 88,000 pounds of unused or expired medication.
