NCGOP Launches ‘Red State Tour’ Highlighting Voter Registration Gains

Yesterday, the North Carolina Republican Party announced its “Red State Tour.” This tour will focus on registering new voters, engaging conservative voters, and work to deploy books on the ground to win up and down the ballot. The party will release more information soon.

The NCGOP’s efforts come after a report from the New York Times showing that Democrats are facing a voter registration crisis. Across the country in the states that track voter registration Democrats have been losing voters, while the Republican Party continues to grow. According to the New York Times over the last four years over 4.5 million voters have swung to the Republican Party.

North Carolina may well be the next battleground state where Republican registrations overtake Democrats. In Florida, the Republican takeover was preceded by shifts in the voter registration as the state shifted from a swing state to a red state under Gov. DeSantis.
