Republican Led North Carolina General Assembly Set To Reconvene To Temporarily Suspend Gas Tax

Over the weekend, Republican legislative leadership announced that they planned to reconvene in Raleigh to temporarily suspend the gas tax, as North Carolinians face high prices at the pump.

Senate Leader Berger and Speaker Destin Hall announced, “Rising fuel costs are squeezing North Carolina families’ pocketbooks and creating challenges for farmers across the state. North Carolinians can’t afford to wait. Today, we are calling for a special session of the General Assembly to provide immediate relief at the pump. More details forthcoming.”
