North Carolina isn’t tired of winning
From: NCGOP Chairman Jason Simmons
Just in time for last-minute Christmas shopping, President Donald Trump is visiting North Carolina this week and delivering more wins for the Tar Heel State.
In the first 11 months of his second term in office, President Trump has secured billions in investments to our state, created thousands of new jobs, cut taxes for working families, ended wars around the globe, secured the southern border, and brought back the historic name of Fort Bragg.
Following four years of the Bidenflation disaster, President Trump knew he had to immediately take action on the economy. The results are already showing. When Biden and Democrats' reckless spending spawned anti-energy policies and drove inflation through the roof, working families in Rocky Mount paid the price.
Now, gas prices are down to their lowest levels in years because President Trump has unleashed American energy dominance in the marketplace. This week, AAA found the statewide average is $2.72, down from $2.86 one year ago and down nearly $2 from June 2022.
At the grocery store, egg prices are down 86% and other staples such as butter, fresh fruit, cereal, fish, seafood, rice, pasta, and ham are also down. There’s more work to do, but President Trump created the greatest economy in history during his first term and he’s doing it again.
The centerpiece of President Trump’s economic agenda is the Working Families Tax Cut Bill he signed into law on July 4. When fireworks went off to celebrate our independence, millions of North Carolinians also celebrated the largest tax cut in American history.
Our state will see workers receiving higher take home pay from $7,100 to $10,100 according to the Council of Economic Advisors, with as many as 1.9 million seniors benefitting from no tax on Social Security benefits. Around 25% of all employees in our state regularly work overtime and could benefit from the no tax on overtime provision, while an even larger 62% of workers are in occupations that are likely eligible for overtime.
Not only will this create massive refunds during next Spring’s tax season, tens of thousands of family farms will not be subject to the death tax, preserving agricultural livelihoods for our state’s most important industry.
President Trump has been the peace President we needed to instill order around the world. Since taking office, he has made astounding progress bringing nations together to stop fighting and save lives. In Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, President Trump has negotiated eight separate peace deals - an incredible, Nobel Prize-worthy achievement.
American security and sovereignty was never more at risk than in the four years Joe Biden allowed millions of illegals across our southern border. When President Trump said all we needed was a new president, he was right. In 2025, he closed the border and for seven months consecutively, not a single illegal has been released into our country.
President Trump has delivered on his promises to North Carolina in many ways. On his first trip after being sworn in, he came to Western NC to show our neighbors still dealing with Hurricane Helene are not forgotten. He restored the name of Fort Bragg to our beloved Army base in the Sandhills. Even this week, his goal of federal recognition for the Lumbee Tribe will become reality.
In closing, another milestone President Trump has played a massive part in is reshaping the political climate of North Carolina. Republicans are set to overtake Democrats in voter registration. The margin is just 1,216 until Republicans officially become the state’s largest political party. To put this number in context, the margin between the two parties was 645,000 on Election Day in November 2016.
North Carolina delivered for President Trump in every campaign he ran and he has delivered a soaring economy, prosperity, and security for us.
Welcome back to North Carolina, Mr. President!
