Prominent North Carolina Democrat Leaders and Activists Disparage Charlie Kirk After His Assassination

Last week, the nation was rocked by the political assassination of Charlie Kirk. Across the country, left leaning activists and leaders in the Democrat Party have posted disgusting, ignorant, callus takes, disparaging a man who was just the victim of a violent crime.  

Here some of the worst takes shared by prominent liberal activists and leaders within the Democrat Party.  

The Durham Policy Chief accused Kirk of being a fake Christian. 

Via Brett Jensen, Charlotte-Mecklenburg School Board Member Melissa Easly said in a Facebook post don’t expect her to feel “sorry, pitty (sic) or mournful” for the killing of Charlie Kirk. Easley says at the end of the post “Remember according to Charlie Kirk "It's okay to sacrifice a few for your 2nd amendment rights" 

Via Libs of TikTok, Union County Democrat Executive Committee member said, “We must mock them and dance on their graves.”

From Libs of TikTok, North Carolina Mayor Ronald McDonald responds to a request for a vigil for Charlie. “You should be ashamed of holding a rally for a racists like him.”  

Tim’s Take: While prominent North Carolina Democrats issued terse statement condemning political violence, the outpouring of hate across the spectrum on the local level from party activists, a police chief, small town mayor, and school board member, highlights the sentiment within the North Carolina Democrat Party. If Democrat leaders wished to provide leadership, they would publicly condemn these widely shared posts, but instead they remain silent.
