Pro-Trump Group Seniors Matters For America Recognizes Sen. Tim Scott And Rep. Virginia Foxx As Champions For Trump’s Seniors First Agenda
This week, Seniors Matter for America (SMFA), the conservative coalition dedicated to advancing President Trump's Seniors’ First Agenda announced its inaugural Champions for America’s Seniors Award. Senator Tim Scott (R- South Carolina) and Congresswoman Virginia Foxx (N.C.-5) were recognized as two of the 15 members of Congress who demonstrated their commitment to more than 61 million American seniors.
"Seniors are the backbone of the American electorate, and they deserve elected officials who deliver for them," said SMFA Senior Advisor Sean Spicer. "The Champion for America's Seniors Award lets our seniors know that they can count on SMFA to watch, keep score, and honor those who fight for them."
This year's honorees have exemplified a steadfast dedication to President Trump’s seniors first agenda, including:
Protecting promised Social Security and Medicare retirement benefits
Strengthening popular senior programs like Medicare Advantage
Cutting the costs of prescription drugs and expanding their availability
Reducing taxes on seniors, including ending taxes on Social Security benefits
Promoting affordability in nursing and long-term care
Rejecting policies that support total government control of healthcare, such as the Democrat Medicare for All scheme that would threaten seniors’ care and result in a massive tax increase.
Seniors Matter for America started earlier this year to support President Trump’s senior-first agenda ahead of the midterm. The group has worked hard to educate voters and provide polling data about issues that matter to seniors. In September, a FabrizioWard Poll found that battleground district voters would massively reward Republicans who fight against government-controlled healthcare.
