Radical Liberal Plans To Register As Republican To Run In 14th Congressional District Primary

There are political shenanigans underway in North Carolina’s 14th Congressional district. Far-left Democrat Kate Barr announced her scheme to register as a Republican to challenge Congressman Tim Moore in the primary. She has not changed any of her ideological positions but rather plans to run as a Republican as a protest against redistricting.  

In the 2024 election cycle, Barr ran for state senate on the message that she could not win. She blamed gerrymandering for her loss, simply ignoring her candidate quality issues. On her campaign website she is looking for local volunteers and surprising she has direct actions for liberals out-of-state who want to help her campaign.  

What’s really going? Is this simply a scheme for a paycheck?  

On her website, Barr touts her background a “CEO” of a Davidson-based company that provides baby products. Her company received a grant from NC IDEA in 2019. But today the website link is broken, and a dive down the internet archive shows that the company stopped operating online around 2023, shortly before her first run for State Senate.  

After announcing her Congressional run, Barr started a liberal dark money organization and a political consulting firm called “Slay Strategies.” This provides an easy way for Barr to cash in on her political campaign that may be able to raise money, but will likely fail.
