After two weeks of silence, Senate candidate former Governor Roy Cooper finally made a brief statement addressing the violent murder of Iryna Zarutska on the Charlotte light rail. Cooper only made these responses after national media picked up the story, and Republicans pointed out Cooper’s long comments on George Floyd’s murder, compared to his silence on incidents in Charlotte.
