In other Western North Carolina Health Care news:

Republican Congressman Chuck Edwards announced plans for legislation to expand the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services' regulatory powers to address concerns raised by the “Immediate Jeopardy” findings over Mission Health. As a note, legislation filed at this point in the campaign cycle is usually filed for messaging purposes. Generally speaking, with primaries and the midterm elections approaching, Congress is focused on politicking over legislating.
