Asheville Plans To Celebrate Arbor Day In The River Arts District
The City of Asheville, with the Urban Forestry Commission and RiverLink, invites the community to celebrate Arbor Day in the River Arts District on April 11th, 2026. Activities will take place at Craven Street Boat Launch and Smoke Stake.
These activities include:
Tree planting demonstrations.
Riparian zone walk-and-talks.
Giving away tree seedlings.
Showing people how to care for trees that pop up on their own.
Sharing information about community projects like the currently-in-production Urban Forest Master Plan and more.
Arbor Day in the RAD at a Glance
Date: Saturday, April 11, 2026
Time: 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Locations: Craven Street Boat Launch (192 Riverside Drive) & The Smokestack (91 Riverside Drive)
Cost: FREE!
Parking: Use the free public parking lot north of Craven Street, and please leave space at the Boat Launch parking for folks putting boats in the water that day. Additional free public parking is available along Riverside Drive and just south of Jean Webb Park.
Come for the trees, stay for the art!
