Asheville Fire Department Looks For Applicants For Explorer Program
This week, the Asheville Fire Department’s Explorer Post 77, a mentorship and training program for youth ages 14 to 18, announced that it was taking applications. Participants receive hands-on experience in firefighting, ladder work, equipment handling, and first aid, providing a strong foundation for a fire service career through regular training and direct mentorship from active firefighters. The program is limited to 20 participants so applicants are encouraged to apply early!
Cadets also develop leadership skills and compete in the annual regional Boy Scouts of America Winterfest, where Asheville youth participate in rapid-dress and high-rise deployment drills.
