Key excerpts from Buckhout’s address:
In combat, I was responsible for the lives of over 800 soldiers. In that job, you do not get to make excuses. You promise to lead, and you either lead or people get hurt or worse. I led. Republicans made a promise to the American worker, and Republicans keep their promises. We said we would cut taxes for working families. We did it. Waitresses keep their tips. The nurse pulling a double shift keeps her overtime pay. Small businesses get room to grow. We call them the working families tax cuts, because that's exactly who they're for. Bigger refunds, lower bills, more money staying where it belongs in the pockets of the people who earned it. And every single Democrat in Congress voted no. My opponent, do-nothing Don Davis, was one of them.
Don Davis and the Democrats clearly have a playbook in Washington. Block it in D.C. and then take credit for it back home. Vote no, then show up with the ribbon-cutting. In the Army, if you fail to keep your promises and not stand by your people, you get relieved of command.
They have told us what they will do, so let's believe them. I'm a soldier. I'm a businesswoman who made payroll. I'm a fighter who keeps her word. And the road to holding this majority runs through districts like mine. So stand with me. Fight with me. Let's retire every Democrat who voted against your paycheck. And let's finish the job.
