City of Asheville Appoints Jade Dundas As Assistant City Manager

Yesterday, the City of Asheville officially appointed Interim Assistant City Manger Jade Dundas to serve as the official Assistant City Manager.

“Jade has done an exceptional job serving in the role of Interim Assistant City Manager.  He brings a wealth of institutional knowledge and leadership experience that has strengthened our organization” said City Manager Debra Campbell. “His ability to collaborate across departments and focus on solutions has been especially vital in our Helene recovery efforts. I am confident in his continued leadership to serve in this role.”

Dundas first joined the City in 2015 as the Water Resource Director, and served in other senior roles include Capital Management Director and Interim Assistant City Manager. He played a key role in helping the city recover from Hurricane Helene.

“It has been an honor to serve the City of Asheville over the past decade in a variety of roles” said Jade Dundas. “I am grateful for the trust placed in me and look forward to continuing to support our community, our employees, and the important work ahead as Assistant City Manager.”

The City of Asheville is currently seeking a replacement for its current City Manager, Debra Campbell, who plans to retire at the end of this year. The city is currently conducting a nationwide search and soliciting feedback from the community.
