City of Asheville Launches New Website For ART Passengers

This week, the City of Asheville launched a new website for passengers of Asheville Rides Transit (ART) with up the minute information. Asheville Rides Transit (ART) bus passengers can now visit ridetheart.com to plan their trips with up to the minute, easily accessible information.

“We’re excited to offer these new tools for our community,” said Chris Whitlock, the City’s Transit Division Manager. “We’ve listened to feedback from passengers, and believe this new site will make planning an ART trip easier and more efficient.”

The new site, built and maintained by the City of Asheville using publicly available transit data, is designed to work on both desktop and mobile devices. Riders can use the site to:

  • Get real-time departure information for specific stops,

  • Save their favorite stops,

  • Track active buses on route maps in real time, and

  • See real-time service alerts for affected routes or the whole system

In addition to the trip planning tools, the new site also makes bus route maps more accessible by presenting them online rather than only as printable documents. It also serves as a single, one-stop location for all ART policies and information, which were previously linked on multiple different web pages.
