Congressman Tim Moore Says He Is Not Interested In Running For Senate
In an interview with Spectrum News last Thursday, in between votes on the One Big Beautiful Bill, Congressman Tim Moore said he was not interested in running for the open U.S. Senate race. As the a former speaker of the North Carolina House and current member of Congress from a Republican-leaning district, Moore’s name has been floated by several North Carolina politicos as possible candidate for the open senate seat.
State of Play:
Right now, most Republicans are waiting on Lara Trump, the daughter-in-law of President Trump, to decide if she plans to run for the open Senate seat. President Trump said she would be his first choice, and she indicated that she is seriously considering the opportunity. Lara Trump had previously considered running for Senate in 2022 but decided against it, opting instead to spend more time with her young children.
