Ahead Of Runoff, Sen. Darline Graham Receives Endorsement From Prominent Republican Leaders, Including Former Primary Opponent

After Senator Darline Graham’s first-place finish in the Special Republican U.S. Senate Primary, several prominent Republican leaders in South Carolina officially endorsed Graham ahead of the August 25th runoff.

Congressman Russell Fry, Graham’s previous primary opponent, endorsed her saying:

  • Over the last several weeks, I traveled thousands of miles and talked with South Carolinians from every walk of life. Everywhere I went, I heard the same thing: life is too expensive, families are working harder just to keep up, and they want Washington to deliver. That’s what our campaign was about: fighting for working families, advancing the America First agenda, and bringing a new generation of conservative leadership to Washington. Our campaign may be over, but that cause isn’t. President Trump needs fighters and allies in the Senate who will show up every day and get results. I believe Darline Graham will be exactly that. Darline knows what it means to struggle, persevere, and keep fighting when life deals you a difficult hand. Those experiences shaped her, and I believe they give her a real understanding of the challenges families across South Carolina face. On August 25, I’m asking everyone who supported our campaign to join me in supporting Darline Graham for the United States Senate. Campaigns are temporary. The cause is bigger than any one candidate. Now let’s get it done.”

Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) endorsed Graham saying

  • “If I were going to endorse in the South Carolina GOP Senate primary, I wanted to do so with confidence. After watching Darline Graham in the Senate and on the campaign trail, I’m confident she’s the real deal. Her first-place finish last night was remarkable, but not surprising. She is a conservative stalwart, a hard worker, and represents our beloved state with class, humility, and dignity. I know she is making her brother proud, but Darline has already proven to be her own person: focused on pocketbook issues, defending our South Carolina values, and delivering for the people she represents. Her priorities are our priorities. I voted for Darline in yesterday’s primary, and I’ll vote for her again in the runoff. I’m proud to endorse Darline Graham for the U.S. Senate, and I encourage South Carolina Republicans across our state to join me in voting for her in the runoff.”

Lt. Governor Pamela Evette (R-SC) endorsed Graham saying:

  • I’m proud to endorse Darline Graham for U.S. Senate. South Carolina cannot afford to go backward. We need someone in Washington who will not just talk about conservative principles, but who will actually work to deliver real results for our state, our people, and our nation. In her short time in the Senate, Darline Graham has shown she is willing to act — including supporting an end to the filibuster, something career politicians have talked about for years. Ralph Norman may have a conservative record, but after 20+ years in office, South Carolinians deserve more than talk, they deserve results. Too often, Ralph has put political games and his own agenda ahead of delivering for the President and the American people. Voter turnout is critical in a runoff. Join me in voting for Darline Graham on August 25th!

Cody Simpson, the Republican nominee for Agriculture Commissioner saying:

  • “Farmers are coming out in droves for Senator Darline Graham! We need a fighter who is going to stand up for South Carolina, our families, and our way of life. President Trump trusts her. I trust her. And I am asking you to trust Darline Graham on August 25th!”

Hugh Weathers, the Republican South Carolina Commissioner of Agriculture endorsed Graham saying:

  • “As South Carolina Commissioner of Agriculture, I know our state needs someone who understands the difficult decisions our farmers and growers make on a daily basis to ensure we have safe food on the table and a thriving economy. We also need someone who knows what it takes to protect our farmland from China. We’ve got to keep a strong voice for South Carolina in Washington who will tell bureaucrats who don’t understand the real world to stay in their lane. Darline is one of us. She’s spent her life standing up for people who need it, cutting wasteful spending & above all, raising a family. South Carolina needs leaders, not politicians. That’s why I’m proud to endorse Darline Graham for U.S. Senate. Please join me in voting for her on August 25.”
