Mission Hospital Named 2026 Healthgrades America’s 50 Best Hospitals
This week, Healthgrades, a top site to find a doctor or hospital, announced the recipients of the 2026 America’s Best Hospitals Awards. The award recognizes the top one, two, and five percent of hospitals nationwide for overall clinical performance. Western North Carolina’s Mission Hospital was recognized as one of the top fifty hospitals in the country. Mission Hospital is one of three hospitals in North Carolina to receive this distinction.
“Being named one of America’s 50 Best Hospitals for the 11th year in a row is an extraordinary achievement and a powerful testament to the consistency, quality, and dedication of our team,” said Greg Lowe, CEO of Mission Health and Mission Hospital. “This recognition reflects our unwavering focus on delivering safe, high-quality care across every service line and our commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes for the patients and communities we serve.”
In addition to the national distinction, Mission Hospital received eight Specialty Excellence Awards, which placed the hospital in the top 10% for several procedures, including Vascular Surgery, Stroke Care, and Coronary Intervention. Mission Hospital was also ranked #1 in North Carolina for Critical Care, GI Medical Treatment, Gastrointestinal Care, Gastrointestinal Surgery, Stroke Care, and Cardiology Services, and #5 in North Carolina for Pulmonary Care.
Healthgrades’ methodology focuses “focuses solely on what matters most–patient outcomes–empowering consumers to choose doctors who practice at high quality hospitals. To determine the top 250 U.S. hospitals, Healthgrades evaluated clinical performance for approximately 4,500 hospitals across more than 30 common procedures and conditions.” The group says that if all hospitals performed similarly to America’s 250 Best Hospitals, 211,380 lives could be saved.
“Healthgrades’ specialty awards identify the nation’s top-performing hospitals in key service areas, helping consumers find high quality care tailored to their specific needs,” said Alana Biggers, MD, MPH, medical advisor at Healthgrades. “We’re proud to recognize Mission Hospital for its consistently superior outcomes across multiple areas of care.”
The recognition for Healthgrades comes nearly two months after Mission Hospital was recognized as a Level One Trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons. The recognition from these two national organizations stands in contrast to liberal activists who disguise themselves as journalist. Asheville Watchdog hired a reporter to cover Mission Health, but true to form, they have yet to cover this story; they did find time to write about chemtrails.
