Last week, CNBC released its annual rankings of states for their business friendliness. 

North Carolina ranked second in the study that evaluates several categories including the economy, workforce, quality of life, and business friendliness.

• Economy: 1st, Grade A+ 

• Workforce 3rd, Grade A 

• Quality of Life: 34th, Grade C-

• Business Friendliness: 8th, Grade B+ 

• Access to Capital: 5th, Grade A-
