As Political Liabilities Mount, Sen. Ossoff Finally Calls On Fellow Democrat Platner To Drop Out Of Senate Race

After an explosive report detailing alleged sexual assault by a liberal leaning woman in Politico, Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff followed the lead of others in calling on Graham Platner to drop out of the race for the U.S. Senate. Notably, Ossoff declined to call on Platner to drop out after the New York Times reported on credible assault allegations from former girlfriend of Platner who happened to lean Republican. This stands in contrast to Sen. Warnock, back in June, who called the allegations “deeply concerning.”

Congressman Mike Collins, the Republican nominee for the Georgia Senate race, said, “Just like his vote on the Lake Riley Act, Jon Ossoff only does the right thing when it’s politically convenient. Georgians deserve a Senator who stands by his convictions, not one who takes his talking points from Chuck Schumer.”

Notably, Ossoff made his statements to a reporter around the time that other prominent Democrat Senate candidates also denounced Platner. This led some commentators to speculate that national Democrat leadership is directing their preferred candidates to dump Platner. Additionally, these calls from establishment Democrats, like Ossoff, come amid speculation that they want Platner to drop out before the deadline to replace him on the ballot.

RNC Spokeswoman Emma Hall said, “Jon Ossoff stayed silent through a Nazi tattoo, sexual assault, and exploiting children, proving he will tolerate the most disgusting behavior imaginable until it becomes a liability for political gain.”

While Ossoff is calling on Platner to drop out now, here is a list of scandals that Platner was involved with that apparently did not bother Ossoff enough to comment on.

  • Posts explicit pictures on “Kik” known as “predator’s paradise” for “child exploitation".

  • Calls all cops “pigs” and “bastards”.

  • Mocks the idea of women reporting rape in the military.

  • Smears the late U.S. Navy Seal and Sniper Chris Kyle
