President Trump and Senator Tim Scott Endorse Attorney General Alan Wilson Ahead Of Tuesday’s Runoff
Today, President Donald Trump and Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) officially endorsed Attorney General Alan Wilson, who is facing Lieutenant Governor Pamela Evette in the runoff election this Tuesday for the Republican Gubernatorial nomination. Trump had previously endorsed Evette and now says that both candidates has his complete and total endorsement.
Here is what President Trump said:
After President Trump endorsed Alan Wilson, Sen. Tim Scott said, “I have always believed that faith in God, faith in one another, and faith in America’s promise can overcome any challenge. Alan Wilson shares that belief. He is a man of deep faith, strong character, and unwavering conviction who has dedicated his life to serving South Carolina. I’m proud to endorse Alan for Governor because he will lead with humility, courage, and an optimistic vision for our state.”
This double endorsement from the President and sitting United States Senator is a clear sign of momentum for Wilson ahead of Tuesday’s runoff. This comes after Wilson secured the endorsement of Congressman Ralph Norman, one of his prominent primary opponents.
