Sen. Ossoff Votes Against Critical Border Security, Again

Last night, Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-GA) voted against the $70 billion funding package designed to address critical border security needs. The measure provides $70 billion package for Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Border Patrol through the end of President Trump’s second term. The bill is expected to head toward the House of Representatives.

“Jon Ossoff has spent months trying to defund the police, proving once again that he would rather protect criminal illegals like Laken Riley’s killer than Georgians,” said NRSC Regional Press Secretary Nick Puglia. “Senate Republicans are making sure law enforcement officers have the resources they need to keep Georgia families safe for years to come.”

Here are some other examples of Ossoff failing to prioritize Georgians by backing law enforcement.

  • Ossoff wants to block local law enforcement from assisting in deporting criminal illegal immigrants.

  • Ossoff refuses to back efforts to deport criminal illegals, gang members, and terrorists.

  • Ossoff has openly smeared federal law enforcement officers, saying they “look like they couldn’t pass the army physical exam,” referring to them as “masked men” and “pretend Delta Force operators.”

The vote last night against border security continues the pattern he set, voting against voting for the One Big Beautiful Bill, which addressed serious border problems caused by the Biden Administration.
