Senate Leadership Fund Launches Ad Highlighting Cooper’s Soft-On-Crime Record

Today, the Senate Leadership Fund, the main independent expenditure group supporting Republicans, launched a new digital advertising effort highlighting Senate candidate former Gov. Roy Cooper’s record of soft-on-crime policies.

This effort comes on the two-month anniversary of the brutal, senseless murder of Iryna Zarutska. Shortly after the murder, Charlotte Police arrested career criminal DeCarlos Brown Jr., who had been arrested 14 times prior to Zarutska’s murder. Brown was released from prison months after Cooper signed an executive order to ‘reimagine public safety.’

“Roy Cooper’s failed tenure as governor put all North Carolinians at risk and fostered an environment where violent criminals like DeCarlos Brown roamed freely as innocent bystanders paid the price. While it’s been two months since Iryna Zarutska’s tragic passing, North Carolinians’ must never forget what he took from us.” — SLF Executive Director Alex Latcham.

The four-figure digital campaign will run primarily in the Charlotte, North Carolina market to remind North Carolinians of Roy Cooper’s horrendous soft-on-crime record.

Additionally, SLF highlight wants people to visit RadicalRoy.org to learn more about Cooper’s liberal record for North Carolina.
