Senate Republicans Highlight Cooper’s Long Record Of Pushing Radical Transgender Ideology, While He Remains Silent On Trans Day Of Visibility
This week, the National Republican Senatorial Committee released a digital ad highlighting former Governor Roy Cooper’s long record of pushing radical gender ideology across North Carolina. Notably, Cooper remained silent on the so-called Trans Day of Visibility an the recent Supreme Court ruling protecting Christian counselors’ freedom of speech.
"For nearly 40 years, Roy Cooper fought to transition North Carolina to the Democrats' woke agenda, supporting men in women's sports, child mutilation surgeries, and letting men use women's bathrooms. Cooper is too radical for North Carolina," said NRSC Regional Press Secretary Nick Puglia.
Transcript: Roy Cooper: "It’s important that we remove this horrible requirement that transgender people had to go to the restroom of their birth certificate. "It is a stain on our great state's reputation and it's got to be wiped out. "One of the most discriminatory laws in the country... and it is wrong. Period. "House Bill 2 created a misguided, unworkable, and unnecessary requirement that individuals use the bathroom that matched the gender on their birth certificate. "And I could not tolerate having House Bill 2 be the law of the land in North Carolina. I could not tolerate it another minute."
Despite his long record on pushing radical transgender ideology, Cooper was noticeably quiet on “Transgender Day of Visibility.” Cooper’s long time political ally, former President Joe Biden made headlines by celebrating this holiday, while ignoring Easter. No where on Cooper’s X, Facebook, Website, Instagram, or TikTok did Cooper commemorate this holiday. Not even on the progressive dominated Blue Sky did Cooper acknowledge his radical agenda.
NCGOP Communications Director Matt Mercer said, "Crooked Roy Cooper has advanced the interests of the radical transgender lobby throughout his time as North Carolina's top liberal career politician. He will work harder to let children get mutilated and biological men invade women's sports and spaces than defend the working families of North Carolina who want safe communities and economic opportunity. Roy Cooper has failed to protect women whether it's from violent criminals or from radical gender ideology."
However, despite his silence on the issue now, Cooper’s record remains clear on the issue.
As Attorney General, Cooper refused to defend House Bill 2 and called the legislation "unconstitutional."
Cooper campaigned for Governor on the promise to repeal HB2.
Cooper, a multimillionaire, worked with woke out of state CEOs who wanted to repeal HB2 and threatened to inflict economic pain on North Carolina.
But now Cooper doesn't want to talk about HB2, refusing to speak with the Washington Post about fighting the legislation.
Cooper literally ran away when asked why he supports biological males in women's sports and refused to say how many genders there are.
Cooper vetoed legislation banning biological males from women's sports and barring children from receiving gender mutilation surgeries.
Tim’s Take: Now that politics have changed, Cooper refuses to stand by his record. His silence shows that he has not changed his position but that he simply does not want North Carolina voters to know where he stands on these issues.
