Sen. Bill Hagerty Voted For 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, Advancing Trump Affordability Agenda

Last night, Senator Bill Hagerty (R-TN) voted to pass the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, a key piece of legislation to advance President Trump’s affordability agenda by addressing the sky rocketing cost of housing under Biden.  

“Bill Hagerty is fighting tirelessly to unleash economic opportunity for families and make life more affordable. This historic legislation puts the American Dream of home ownership within greater reach for hardworking Tennesseans and first-time homebuyers,” said NRSC Regional Press Secretary Samantha Cantrell.   

The 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act addresses the root causes of increased housing costs by providing regulatory relief. It limits the ability of large-scale investors from buying single family homes, which restricts the market for families looking for a home. It also reforms federal housing regulations to promote home building across the country. Finally, it reforms the permitting system, reducing the regulatory burden on home builders.  

Republicans decline to spend a significant amount of taxpayer dollars to bail out a broken system, they simply fixed the problem created by the government. Something Democrats were pushing for.  

President Trump is personally championing the bill as a key part of his affordability agenda to bring down costs for average Americans.
