State Auditor Boliek Appoints New Chairs to County Board of Elections

Today, State Auditor Dave Boliek released the list of the newly appointed Chairs of County Boards of Elections. The local chair serves as the point person on the County Board of Elections. Last December, the North Carolina General Assembly shifted appointment power from the Governor to the State Auditor, which means that the partisan composition of the County Boards of Election shifted from three Democrats and two Republicans to three Republicans and two Democrats.

The County Board oversees the election administration at the County level and is the first body to make decisions regarding issues like proper voter registration and early voting locations. Their term begins on June 24th and will continue until their successor is appointed and qualified.

Here are the new County Charis for North Carolina’s 100 counties.
