Elaine Luria Wins Democrat Primary In Congressional District She Does Not Live In

As expected, Congresswoman Jen Kiggans successfully secured the Republican nomination for Virginia’s Second Congressional District, and former Congresswoman Elaine Luria secured the Democrat nomination. Notably, Luria no longer lives in the Second District, but in Norfolk.

WAVY News interviewed Luria’s Democrat opponents who called her out for not being willing to take questions from members of the community. Luria cited “scheduling conflicts” and touted her fundraising haul.

“Congresswoman Jen Kiggans is a Navy veteran, wife, and mother who has delivered historic tax relief for Hampton Roads families, voted to ban Members of Congress and their families from trading stocks, and was recently rated the most effective lawmaker in Virginia. Conversely, retread loser Elaine Luria is a corrupt, soulless hypocrite who used her taxpayer-funded position to make millions of dollars by trading stocks while saddling Virginians with historic inflation and record-high gas prices. Virginians already rejected loser Luria's high-price, far-left, tax-and-spend agenda once, and will do so again this November.” – NRCC Spokesman Reilly Richardson.

Kiggans did not have a primary opponent. Luria secured her primary with 80% of the vote.
