Roy Cooper For Senate Campaign Announces First Quarter Fundraising Haul
Today, the Roy Cooper for Senate Campaign announced that they raised $13.8 million in the first quarter of 2026. The campaign says that the vast majority of the donations are from small dollar donors. Notably, the campaign did not release their total cash on hand figure, which is usually released in these announcements. The FEC reports show that he has $16 million cash on hand.
But that may not be enough to make a difference in the total amount spent on the North Carolina Senate race. For example, the Republican aligned, Senate Leadership Fund announced its initial investment of $71 million in North Carolina as part of their broader effort to protect the Republican Senate Majority.
Additionally, Cooper’s campaign may be vulnerable to any fallout from the ongoing saga with ActBlue. Less than a month ago, The New York Times published a report on how ActBlue’s lawyers warned the organization that they may have misled Congress. This report comes as the Department of Justice and Congress may release the results of their investigation soon.
