Whatley Announces Record $6 Million Haul Two Months After Launching Senate Campaign

The Washington Examiner exclusively reported Michael Whatley for Senate raised nearly $6 million, two months after the launch of his Senate campaign. According to the Whatley campaign, the $5.8 million raised by the Whatley Victory Committee and Whatley for Senate is more than any other Republican running for the United States Senate.

This fundraising surge was fueled by small dollar donors, with the average donation coming in at $15 per donor. The Whatley team touted this small-dollar fundraising success as sign that Whatley has substantial grass roots support.

“Raising $6 million in just two short months shows the incredible momentum behind Michael Whatley, the Trump-endorsed candidate for U.S. Senate,” said Danielle Alvarez, a senior adviser to the Whatley campaign. “North Carolinians have had enough of Roy Cooper’s pro-criminal, America-Last agenda and are rallying behind Michael Whatley — a true America First patriot and ally to President Trump who will deliver real results for the people of North Carolina.”

Cooper made headlines after launching his campaign, bringing in $3.4 million within the first 24 hours of launching his campaign. During his gubernatorial campaigns, Cooper received substantial support from out-of-state donors. When his final report is disclosed, it will become clear if Cooper is maintaining the same strategy of relying on people outside of North Carolina. Additionally, Cooper utilizes the Democrat fundraising tool ActBlue, which is under investigation for alleged straw donor schemes that permit illegal campaign donations.
